Obituary for Cynthia Rosemary "Rosie " Wilkins

WILKINS: Cynthia Rosemary
“Rosie” to all who knew her

God has taken another angel from us far to early on November 1, 2017. For the past three years Rosie put forth a courageous battle against cancer. Never once letting the effects of forty chemo and seven radiation treatments change her bright and cheery outlook on life, family or friends. Despite the horrific side effects taking their toll she never failed to greet everyone with a smile and “I’m doing good”. The sense of loss is overwhelming to all who knew her.
Rosie went through life with a glass half full attitude always looking for the good in people. Her welcoming smile, generosity and eagerness to lend a hand were endless qualities automatically drawing people to her. She made and kept countless friendships wherever she went. She loved to travel holding decade long friendships in England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Newfoundland. She was extremely proud of her home and had a passion for entertaining family and friends with endless energy. Memories of these great times are always the subject of conversations.
It is said Angels walk among us and Rosie was one we were so fortunate to have for over sixty-six years. She has left a lasting impression on everyone she touched throughout her life and while greatly missed will never be forgotten.
Rosie was the cherished wife of Robert (Bob) for over forty-four years. Born in Hartland, New Brunswick on June 9 1951 she was predeceased by parents John Gillin & Dorothy (Graham), bothers David (New Brunswick) and Michael (England). Her adopted daughter Trinity, granddaughter Ashley and their children survive her, along with, sisters, Linda Hartley (Bud), Barbara Hargrove (Neville), Kathy Cowan (Steve) Lisa Gillin-Cole (Dan). Brothers Richard (Brenda), Robert (Barb) Johnny (Kelly). Brother-in Law Ron Wilkins (Nancy), Sister-in-laws Elaine Mihm (Patrick) & Diane Belanger (Norm).“Adopted” families of Allan & Sandy Cassidy, Bruce & Connie Campbell and Silvyann Tobin. Numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces as well as countless close friends.
Rosie, there is now an emptiness I cannot fill and an ache I cannot stop. I hope and pray there is a “life here after” and I will be so blessed to join you there when my time comes. Rosie’s wish was to be cremated with a private interment in Hartland. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Soldier On Fund @ soldieron.ca would be appreciated.
